The Los Angeles Lakers selected Ivica Zubac with the 32nd overall pick in the 2016 Draft on Thursday night, and given that he is just 19-years old and his only pro experience comes from playing overseas, very few were familiar with his name or his game.
After his comments to the media revealed that Zubac is a lifelong Lakers fan who couldn't be happier he ended up with his favorite team, most (including this author) were left curious about what Zubac actually brought on the court.
The answer? A few skills the Lakers need, and it's easy to see the outline of a helpful player in Zubac's still underdeveloped game.
The 7'1 center's best work comes (unsurprisingly) around the basket, where Zubac has soft hands and a few effective, if a bit robotic, post moves. Zubac gives good effort on the offensive glass, and while he's a bit slow due to his sheer size, he does show promise as a dive man out of pick-and-rolls.
Ridiculous Upside Editor Dakota Schmidt put together an in-depth look at some of Zubac's best work, and it's worth a look for any Lakers fans curious about his game:
