There were rumors earlier today that the Chicago Bulls might be interested in offering the Los Angeles Lakers Jimmy Butler for the second overall pick in the draft. According to Ramona Shelberne of ESPN during an appearance on TV before the 2016 NBA Draft, they are far from the only team calling about the pick:
Ramona Shelburne reports that the Lakers' phone is "ringing off the hook" with teams inquiring about trading for the No. 2 pick.— Lakers Outsiders (@LakersOutsiders) June 23, 2016
Well, first of all, Mitch should probably unplug his cell phone and put it somewhere safe if it keeps ringing off of its charger due to the frequency teams are calling him. Or, if Shelburne's additional comments prove true and aren't just Kupchak's way of generating leverage, then maybe he can turn it off entirely:
She added that the Lakers do not want to trade the No. 2 pick because they love Brandon Ingram.— Lakers Outsiders (@LakersOutsiders) June 23, 2016
It sounds like barring anything totally unexpected, the Lakers aren't going to be setting off "trade rumor Twitter" with any fireworks tonight.
