Lakers offseason news: D'Angelo Russell seems to be REALLY excited about Luke Walton taking over as head coach

"#Luuuuuuuuuuuukeeeeee" indeed.

The Los Angeles Lakers will officially introduce their new head coach, Luke Walton, to the media at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon. Walton's duties as a Golden State Warriors assistant ended with the team's heartbreaking loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in game seven of the 2016 NBA Finals on Sunday night, and while that is surely not the way he wanted his time in Golden State to end, it has left him free to fully focus on his new job as Lakers head coach.

You could say at least one of his players seems pretty jazzed about that idea:

Russell isn't the only one ready for the new Lakers head coach. Jordan Clarkson said he literally ran around the house when he heard Walton was hired, and Julius Randle is hopeful  his new head coach can help him develop the way he helped the Warriors' Draymond Green.

A new era of Lakers basketball begins on Tuesday, and the players involved sound like they couldn't be happier.
