NBA Mock Draft: Silver Screen and Roll selects Brandon Ingram From Duke for the Los Angeles Lakers

We explain our very controversial pick in SB Nation's mock draft.

Robert Hanashiro-USA TODAY Sports

Everyone who's ever played fantasy sports has dreamed about being the general manager for their own pro sports team. Today, our friends over at Ridiculous Upside are giving all of the SB Nation NBA team sites are giving us the chance with their 2016 SB Nation NBA mock draftYou can see all of the sites picks as they come in right here (the draft usually gets pretty crazy with trades), and you are going to be shocked that we selected Duke freshman Brandon Ingram with the second overall pick.

Silver Screen and Roll took Ingram because he seems to be quite clearly the best player in the draft with Ben Simmons off the board. The team also has a desperate need on the wing that Ingram should fill for years to come. His length and quickness should eventually make him a terror defensively, and his shooting gives the Lakers some spacing to unclog the toilet that was their offense for the last two years.

Once Simmons was off the board, there was really no other way to go. The team and their fans should be thrilled with this mock selection that's very likely to become reality on Thursday.
