The Los Angeles Lakers have released their preseason schedule for the 2016-2017 season, opening up the doors on Oct. 4 in Anaheim against the Sacramento Kings. Training camp will be held in El Segundo this year, opting to keep things centered at home instead of taking the show on the road to Hawaii this time around. Change is coming for the franchise and keeping things focused in Los Angeles makes sense during such an important transition.
Opening day for preseason could be a big moment for the franchise with a new roster, coach and direction getting their first crack at competing. The Lakers will make their way to the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for two games (Warriors, Kings) but the other six games are throughout Southern California. They'll make a return to San Diego at the Valley View Casino Center despite the game needing to be called early last time around due to rain on the court making for unsafe playing conditions.
