The Los Angeles Lakers season has been over for about a month now, giving members of the team some time to relax and decompress after a year that wasn't lacking in negatives on and off the court. The last few days have been especially kind to one member of the team, third-year forward Julius Randle.
News leaked on Thursday that Randle and his fellow Lakers lottery pick D'Angelo Russell had been invited to join the Team USA select team in Las Vegas this summer. The select team is for the most promising young players in the American basketball pipeline, as a way to get them involved and scrimmaging against the players competing for a spot in the Olympics.
It's a big honor for Randle, and while he isn't a Los Angeles native, he celebrated the honor like more than a few members of his adopted city would: by attending a Los Angeles Dodgers game:

When you combine this with Randle growing up as a fan of the Lakers and Kobe Bryant despite living in Texas, and he might have actually been born to wear the purple and gold.
