Kobe Bryant's amazing 60-point storybook ending still had the Los Angeles Lakers practice facility abuzz the next morning as the rest of the team went through their exit interviews with the media. Nick Young was still smiling while recalling the night's events.
"Kobe was signing autographs. We were all in line like we was fans in the locker room," said Young, who watched the night in a suit while receiving another DNP.
However, just because Bryant was in a good mood after the win did not mean his competitive spirit had disappeared. Kobe may no longer have on-court rivals, but he still has corporate ones.
"The fact that he threw my Adidas and didn't sign my Adidas I was a little disappointed in that," laughed Young. "He threw my shoes in the trash, but yeah, that's Kobe for you."
Bryant not only being unwilling to sign a competing shoe, but throwing it in the freaking trash, is a perfect Kobe story in a night filled with them. Still, the night wasn't a total loss for Young.
"He signed some Nikes, he's not signing no Adidas," smiled Young. "But he also took a picture with my son, I though that was cool too."
Bryant is gone, and Young very well could be too, but if it was the last night in a Lakers uniform for both of them, it was certainly a memorable one.
