D'Angelo Russell Injury: Russell suffers moderate ankle sprain, X-rays come back negative

D'Angelo Russell needed help off the court after injuring his ankle.

D'Angelo Russell suffered a moderate ankle sprain during the Los Angeles Lakers' game against the Denver Nuggets. Russell was helped off of the court by Tarik Black and Jordan Clarkson, then was assisted directly back to the locker room.

X-rays taken immediately following the injury came back negative, according to Shahan Ahmed of NBC Los Angeles. The Lakers ruled him out for the remainder of the game against the Nuggets and plan on providing an update on D'Angelo's status Saturday. The Lakers next play Sunday against the Wizards in Los Angeles.
