The Los Angeles Lakers are trying to drag themselves to the finish line of the season with only 13 games left, and a meeting with the Memphis Grizzlies won't make that any easier. The Lakers are back into the kind of discordant groove they've been in all season, riding a four-game losing streak in a batch of difficult-to-watch games.
Making matters worse, the Lakers are now also dealing with a claim from a woman that Jordan Clarkson and Nick Young verbally sexually harassed her and her mother. Details are still unclear on what happened, but it's certainly an unsavory situation to end the year with.
Kobe Bryant's status against the Grizzlies remains in the air. He's missed the previous two Lakers game -- both at home in Staples Center -- but he's inching closer to a single-digit amount of games left for his career. If he feels capable of playing physically, as has been the case told to us all season, expect him to be on the court. This is also a nationally televised game, so that could be some added incentive.
There's not much to get hyped on about this one, but if the Grizzlies discard the Lakers again it'll be a four-game sweep. Lakers head coach Byron Scott also plans on playing the youth in the fourth quarter "no matter what," so we should see plenty of D'Angelo Russell and the crew down the stretch.
Enjoy the game!
