Russell Westbrook won MVP and Paul George nearly set a new single-game scoring record, but the star of the 2016 NBA All-Star game in Toronto was undoubtedly Kobe Bryant. Nearly the entire weekend was a tribute to the soon-to-retire star, from Magic Johnson leading a heartwarming introduction to TNT producing a video of NBA players revealing what Kobe Bryant's legacy means to them. Bryant even received two of the three fan votes to win the games MVP, which would have given him an NBA record five MVPs in the exhibition had a few of the media voted for him.
Towards the end of the game, Kobe shared a few moments with his former teammate and fellow All-Star Pau Gasol, playfully trash-talking with and posting up the big Spaniard. After the game was over, Pau posted a photo on Instagram of the two embracing on the bench, just enjoying the last moments of Bryant's final time participating in the NBA's marquee exhibition:
Pau wasn't the only former Bryant teammate All-Star to post an appreciative message about Kobe on Instagram, with Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers also posting two photos commemorating Bryant's last All-Star game. One showed him and Bryant shooting promotional photos for the game:
And the other was an adorable photo Kobe playing with Paul's son during a break in the action:
Kobe's career may almost be over, but the appreciation he has generated from his peers has ensured his legacy will continue to have an impact on the league long after he shelves his Nike's for the final time.
