The injuries early in the season piled up rather quickly for the Los Angeles Lakers, at least temporarily derailing a surprisingly fun start to their 2016-17 campaign.
Just 23 games in, virtually half of the roster has already missed some time due to injury this season. As each game passes, it seems to be someone new, but the Lakers are finally starting to get some good news on that front.
D’Angelo Russell was cleared to begin on-court work again on Tuesday, though he did not make the trip to Houston to take on the Rockets on Wednesday night. Larry Nance, Jr., however, did travel with the team and Spectrum SportsNet’s Mike Bresnahan reports that he will make his return to the lineup tonight.
Head coach Luke Walton has been forced to break up the second unit for the time being to make up for the team’s injuries, but the return of Nance gives the Lakers a key member of their bench back. A number of rotation players are still out of the lineup for Los Angeles, but hopefully Nance’s return starts the trend towards the revival of a healthy Lakers lineup.
