After missing two of the Los Angeles Lakers’ last three games with a knee injury that continues to nag him, D’Angelo Russell is set to miss at least one more. The sophomore point guard will not travel to the Bay Area with his team when they take on the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night, according to Bill Oram of the Orange County Register.
Despite that, Russell says there is nothing to worry about.
"It’s not that big of a deal, I’m all right,” Russell told Oram.
Given that Lakers head coach Luke Walton has said repeatedly that Russell shouldn’t be playing if he can’t be at 100 percent, the Lakers opting to keep him home for a day and see if he can get ready to play by Friday shouldn’t be surprising.
Stay tuned to Silver Screen and Roll for more updates on Russell’s health.
