Lakers Highlights: Ivica Zubac channeled his inner Kareem for a hook shot on his first Lakers basket.

The Zubac era has begun in Los Angeles.

With Timofey Mozgov held out of the Los Angeles Lakers game against the Atlanta Hawks with an eye injury, rookie Ivica Zubac recieved the somewhat surprising nod for his first regular season start. Zubac was pumped to play against Dwight Howard, one of his favorite players growing up, but he showed him no mercy in dropping this sweet hook shot to begin his NBA career:

Zubac wasn’t perfect against Howard (he’s a second-round rookie after all) but his NBA career is off to as promising of a start as can reasonably be expected.
