On Tuesday morning, Lakers Twitter was abuzz with anticipation. No, it wasn’t the team’s first preseason game of the year that inspired the storm, but rather the announcement of former head coach Byron Scott’s upcoming book.

Titled “SLAM DUNK SUCCESS: Leading from Every Position on Life’s Court,” Scott’s tome promises to reveal “that there is only one set of rules to success in life, be it in the board room or on the court, and provides readers with leadership tactics and techniques for handling tough decisions, confidence building and motivation.”

As anyone who has watched the Lakers over the last few years can attest, if there is anything Scott excels at, it’s all of the stuff listed above. The Lakers’ last two seasons had tons of success*, and it’s hard to not to credit Scott for much of it.

Because we at Silver Screen and Roll couldn’t wait for the release of this masterpiece and the ensuing success if will surely bring to our lives, we decided to do a little digging. After some work*, we managed to track down what we have been promised are legit excerpts of Byron Scott’s upcoming book, courtesy of Twitter must-follow @MastaRedSnappa. Below is a brief taste of what we can expect from each chapter of the text:

*Not really excerpts. Or are they?

Unfortunately we won’t be able to get our hands on the full version of this future New York Times Best-Seller until 2017, but if the rest of it as good as these brilliant clips, it will surely be worth whatever it costs.

Special Thanks to the brilliant @MastaRedSnappa for the images/text in this post. All Lakers fans should be following him on Twitter.

**in the lottery

***100 percent, definitely not legit excerpts
