Jerry West played a role in an incredible amount of success for the Los Angeles Lakers, and while he may be a consultant for the Golden State Warriors now, he’ll always be linked to the franchise he spent his entire playing career with. In addition to his legendary time on the court, West was also the architect behind both the “Showtime” dynasty featuring Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and the Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant fueled threepeat teams.
West made some headlines on Wednesday when he admitted to Adrian Wojnarowski of the Vertical that he would have left the Lakers in free agency during his career if he could have, and he’s with the Warriors now.
However, while Brandon Ingram was cooking in the fourth quarter of the Lakers’ 123-112 loss to Golden State, West’s reaction to one of Ingram’s jumpers (purple shirt, sitting behind the baseline) made it clear that his blood will always run purple and gold to some degree:

Considering West’s track record in the draft, this pretty much guarantees Ingram is going to be a Hall of Famer.
