The Los Angeles Lakers traveled all the way to Los Angeles for a bout with their cross-hall rivals and Staples Center co-tenants, the Los Angeles Clippers. Kobe Bryant sat out the contest, but Lou Williams returned from an illness that held him out against the Chicago Bulls to give the Lakers a bit more scoring punch in Kobe's absence.
The Lakers have lost their previous eight games, a season high for the purple and gold, and hoped to avoid that streak getting to nine against Chris Paul and company. Even without Blake Griffin, the Clippers still boast more talent than the Lakers, making a victory no easy task for a team that seems to nearly set a new franchise low in points almost every single game lately.
