Lakers Trade Rumors: Los Angeles 'making no secret' of Brandon Bass, Roy Hibbert, Lou Williams, and Nick Young's trade availability

The trade deadline is coming up, and a few could be on the move.

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

After a Thursday that saw conflicting reports about the trade availability of Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard D'Angelo Russell, a few more familiar names were again reported to be available. Marc Stein of ESPN filed a report on various players available in trades leaguewide, and after reporting that the Denver Nuggets are " making no secret of veteran forward JJ Hickson's availability", Stein continued"ditto for the Los Angeles Lakers and a number of veterans on their roster: Roy Hibbert, Brandon Bass, Nick Young and Lou Williams."

Those four veterans being available is no surprise on a team that currently sits with a record of 9-39 after losing their last eight games, especially when Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders reported earlier this month that Hibbert, Young, and Basse were available, with Bass "expected" to be moved.

Of those four players, Hibbert and Young are in the midst of arguably the worst seasons of their careers, which makes it difficult to find teams that would potentially be interested in acquiring them,.

Bass, on the other hand, is shooting, a team high 55.4% from the field (among players to appear in more than 15 games). bouncing back after a poor start to the campaign. Still, it's hard to see a half season rental like Bass (who has a player option after this season) who is only making a reported $3 million this season fetching much in a trade.

Similarly, Williams is a known quality as a relatively efficient scoring option off the bench, and would presumably fetch some value in a hypothetical trade, but it's hard to predict which type of team could be willing to give up the types of young assets or draft picks the Lakers would presumably want in return for Williams.

The trade deadline is February 18th, but expect plenty more noise around the Lakers before then.
