The Los Angeles Lakers officially opened training camp in Hawaii, beginning preparations for their first preseason game on Oct. 4 and a new season ahead. James Worthy was ready to break in his new role with player development, working with the Lakers' bigs from Day 1:

Not bad having one of the NBA's greats on-hand to help around camp. It's nice to see some of their offseason developments in action, even if it's as simple as Worthy spreading his wealth of knowledge. Fundamentals and the kind of details he can share with his fellow Lakers are a welcome addition in Hawaii.
