Lakers Media Day: How to watch, coverage and more

The Lakers season is close you can smell it like a fresh batch of cookies in the oven.

The Los Angeles Lakers take the first "official" step in their new season, gathering in El Segundo for media day. Before the grind of training camp and preseason give way for the regular season, it's time to have some fun and get acquainted with a very different looking Lakers squad.

It's a great opportunity to catch up with players that haven't been as public about their offseason. Hearing from Kobe Bryant for the first time since being fully cleared for basketball activities is one of the most interesting things to look out for. Checking in with D'Angelo Russell, Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson should also be of interest to everyone getting ready for a fresh year with the young Lakers core.

Aside from the onslaught of quotes that will spill out of the event, expect some fun along the way. Teams get a little silly as they get most of their promotional shots out of the way while everyone's together. Looking at you, Metta World Peace.

Media day begins at 1 p.m. PT in El Segundo, so stay tuned in at Silver Screen and Roll as we provide updates and more as the season kicks off.
