Los Angeles Lakers second-year power forward Julius Randle spent just one season at Kentucky under head coach John Calipari, averaging 15 points and 10.4 rebounds on Kentucky's run to the National Championship game (in which the Wildcats ultimately lost to the University of Connecticut).
Although their time together was brief, it seems Randle sincerely appreciated the development of his game that Calipari played a part in during their one year together before Randle was selected 7th overall in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Lakers, and he took to Instagram on Friday night to publicly thank his former coach:
It is always nice to see players take time to to thank those who have helped them attain their success. Randle will begin training camp with the rest of the Lakers in Hawaii on September 29th.
