Hey everyone,
Our recruitment wave has concluded, and I'm very excited to bring on the fine folks we have lined up joining the staff. It's important for Silver Screen and Roll to continue being the kind of community it's always been for Lakers fans, and I'm confident these folks will only enrich the experience we offer here.
I appreciate everyone who checks in, even every now and again, just to see what's going on with the Lakers. We've grown exponentially, which has only left me more motivated as editor-in-chief to do the best job possible to bring the best Lakers experience available on the Internet to the table every single day. That means expanding in many different ways, but it's an exciting time to build on what we've grown here over the years. We already have a lot of very talented and established voices, and adding to that should only make our coverage more diverse.
I'm looking forward to a bigger and better year for Silver Screen and Roll, and we all appreciate the support the community has always given us. Onward and upward.
Now please meet the new additions to the staff!
- Drew
Apratim Ghosh
Hey everyone! My name is Apratim Ghosh. I grew up in Walnut, CA, about 25 miles southeast of Los Angeles. That proximity to the city and my mother's love of basketball ingrained an obsession for the game and the Lakers in my DNA.
I got turned on to SS&R through a search for deeper analysis of the team and the game. I wanted to inform myself through voices that had an appreciation for the nuance of the game. I wanted to develop a perspective from authors and a publication that was at the same time creative but grounded in reality. I found that at SS&R and it has motivated me to try and contribute in that vein as well.
In addition to joining the SS&R team, I am also a contributing columnist for the USA Today Sports Business publication "The Fields of Green". I am an alumnus of both UCSD (undergraduate) and USC (graduate). I can't wait to start contributing and you can follow me at @apratimghosh on Twitter. I actively discuss basketball, sports in general, music, and politics.
Thanks!

After a year's worth of blogging for various other websites I'm looking forward to writing at Silver Screen & Roll. I enjoy writing the more human stories taking place as a direct result of what competition brings out of athletes, coaches and fans alike, on and off the court.
On top of writing for the site, I also plan on hosting Silver Screen & Roll's podcast, which we'll expand later.
Joining the site as the Lakers are on a definite upswing is exciting. Watching a young team like this develop over the next few years is what writers get into this business for.
Ryan Kelapire
I am currently a student at the University of Arizona, and I have been an avid Lakers fan since the Kobe and Shaq days. My goal is to provide unique and insightful content from all different angles, and to continue to make Silver Screen and Roll the premier Lakers community on the Internet. It's undoubtedly an exciting time in LakerLand with all the young talent the team has, and I'm excited to have a chance to cover it.

I'm a Pepperdine journalism alum from Southern California. Breakfast burritos are life. I hope to work with the Silver Screen and Roll squad to make the site bigger and badder in what may be Kobe's last season.
