Emmanuel Mudiay plans to work out for the Los Angeles Lakers basketball operations department for a second time before the 2015 NBA Draft, according to Mark Medina of the L.A. Daily news. Mudiay worked out for the Lakers on June 6th, and was the first top prospect to do so. Most mock drafts are still predicting the Lakers select Duke's Jahlil Okafor after the Minnesota Timberwolves select Kentucky's Karl-Anthony Towns.
Mudiay coming in for a second workout is relatively unsurprising, Mitch Kupchak previously mentioned that his hope was to work out all of the top prospects a second time, and Mudiay would appear to just be the first. The team has already watched Kristaps Porzingis work out twice this week as it continues to do it's due diligence leading up to June 25th.
Mudiay appears likely to drop past the Lakers, but the 19-year old still has plenty of skills, which our own Dakota Schmidt captured here from his season spent in China:
Could Mudiay have an impressive enough workout to convince the Lakers to take him second overall? It seems doubtful, but anything is possible until the Lakers finalize their selection on the 25th.
