Nick Young and Iggy Azalea are getting married

The Lakers scorer celebrated his birthday by getting engaged.

Nick Young celebrated his 30th birthday on Monday, and decided to celebrate the occasion by proposing to his long-term girlfriend, rapper Iggy Azalea:

Getting a yes to his marriage proposal is probably the best gift Azalea has given young, slightly edging out the 1962 Impala she had delivered to him at the Los Angeles Lakers practice facility as a Christmas gift. Here's a closer look at the $500,000 ring featuring 10.43 carats of diamonds, via Iggy's Instagram:

Lakers small forward Wesley Johnson also made a cameo appearance at the celebration:

Another Lakers sixth man, forward Lamar Odom, credited much of his strong play to his 2009 marriage to Khloe Kardashian:

"Once I became married and started to do things a little differently and take more responsibility in life, it made playing basketball so easy," Odom reflected. "Right now, there isn't anything that's distracting me from the game, and a lot of that is because of the love that my wife has for me. There aren't any stresses."

A clear mind has propelled Odom to 15.6 points on 57 percent shooting with 9.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game for the 25-11 Lakers. The 6-10 power forward/point guard/center came in off a key role on back-to-back NBA championship teams, plus a FIBA World Championships gold medal earned as a leader of Team USA in the 2010 summer.

After a 2014-15 season in which nearly every one of his per game statistics dropped from the preceding 13-14 campaign, Young can only hope that a new marriage has a similar effect on his play.

Congratulations to the happy couple on their pending nuptials. Thankfully for Young, people wear wedding bands on their left hands, otherwise he would have to explain to her why he could not wear one because his right arm is "strictly for buckets."
