The wait is finally over. Lakers fans have been on pins and needles for the past few months waiting to find out whether or not the team would retain their 2015 draft pick. Fortunately the basketball gods smiled on Los Angeles and presented the Lakers with the #2 pick.
With the #2 pick the Lakers will have a number of options to choose from, potentially including Duke big man Jahlil Okafor and Ohio State guard D'Angelo Russell. Interestingly enough, the Minnesota Timberwolves, who won the #1 pick, have been rumored to be one of the few teams that may have Okafor ranked ahead of consensus #1 Karl-Anthony Towns. If this is the case that means it is still possible for the Kentucky's Towns to end up in purple in gold.
All in all, this was a fantastic draft lottery for the Los Angeles Lakers.
