Christmas in May? The NBA's annual tradition of designing exclusive Christmas Day uniforms comes early for fans this year, as the new looks leaked way ahead of schedule, via Paul Lukas of Uni-Watch. We here are Silver Screen & Roll are happy to report these jerseys are more than additional sleeves, oddly placed logos and numbers, and first names. Here's the first look at what the Los Angeles Lakers will wear when they take the court on Dec. 25:
It's a big departure from the direction the holiday uniforms have taken in recent years, but it's a fresh look for the first time in a long time. Kudos to the NBA for getting out of their comfort zone to bring in a crisp new look.
Lukas goes into details regarding the batch of jerseys, revealing that the NBA has noted these will also have "glazed sugar ornamental shiny surfaces," which immediately brings in visions of Nick Young chucking up jump shots while glitter flies around him. We shall see.
One final note: The schedule has not been released, so we'll have to hang tight a bit longer to see what the Lakers will be up to.
What do you guys think about the new take on these? Are they better than previous years, or are you not feeling them at all? Let us know in the comments!
