The Los Angeles Lakers' journey through the muck at the bottom of the NBA comes to an end tonight as they play their regular season finale against the Sacramento Kings. All good things must come to an end, which means all bad things do too, right? Right?!
The city of Los Angeles will have the chance to send this team off, hitting the Staples Center floor to wrap up an incredibly disappointing '14-15 season. If the DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay-less Kings beat the Lakers for the second time in a row, this team will not only have the most losses in franchise history, but the worst winning percentage as well. That's all that remains for this Lakers team to decide.
Jordan Clarkson played 47 minutes on a bum ankle against the Kings on Monday but still put up an impressive outing. If he suits up for this one it will be his final chance to make his case to the league to possibly land a first team All-Rookie spot. He's turned it up, looks like one of the most promising prospects out of the draft, and is doing this on a team that's about as stable as the San Andreas Fault.
There's plenty to say about this season and the future, but this is it. One game. One final game. We've all made it to game 82 -- some less-sane than before, surely -- so let's get the popcorn and finish this together. Win, lose or otherwise, the Lakers are about to close the book on this season.
Enjoy the game, and from the entire staff thank you for joining us here at Silver Screen and Roll throughout the season. Let's continue building upward together while a new era of Lakers basketball has it's foundation set this summer.
