Lakers vs. Heat preview: Enter the Dragon

Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic host the Lakers at their temple.

Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Lakers didn't spend much time in Charlotte following their one-point loss, already heading down the coast to Miami to face the Heat and Goran Dragic. The Heat are in a shaky position following Chris Bosh's season-ending condition, though they did swing for the fences by acquiring Dragic from Phoenix. What would have been a formidable lower-seed in the Eastern Conference was over before it began.

The Lakers are soul searching through the final weeks of the season. While Brian Shaw finds his way out of Denver, Byron Scott finds his way closer and closer to adding a top-five player to his roster next season. Out in New York, Derek Fisher's Knicks might have the worst starting lineup in the league under Phil Jackson's guidance.  The struggle is real.

As the Lakers forge forward with a chance to judge Jordan Clarkson and give Jeremy Lin playing time, there's little else going on for LA. Seeing Tarik Black get some playing time could be a treat, though he's taken DNP's over the Lakers' previous four games.

On a back-to-back this is going to be a tough game for the Lakers. Miami is trying to scrape it's way into a playoff spot, even reaching into the Michael Beasley bucket again, and should look to make this as easy as possible. Hassan Whiteside's emergence has re-energized Miami, and he's a player to keep an eye on tonight.

Enjoy the game! Maybe Hassan will pull down 40 boards.
