While the future of the NBA battles across the nation, the Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz battle at Staples Center in a game that's more March Sadness than Madness. The Lakers have been falling into their top-five protection while the Jazz have turned things around since dumping Enes Kanter off to Oklahoma City.
The Lakers have nothing left to play for but pride on an individual level, but a top prospect is a much more lucrative investment. The Jazz aren't going to push their way into playoff contention, but their post All-Star break run has been impressive. Utah is trying to develop it's foundation, which looks much better than it did about a month ago.
Things are getting tight at the bottom with the Philadelphia 76ers picking up a win over the struggling Detroit Pistons. The Lakers have gone 2-8 over their previous 10 games, and with two games left against the Sixers who decided to trade for the rights to the Lakers '15 pick, it's going to be a high-tension race to lottery night.
It's hard to get up for a game like this, but hey, maybe a Jordan Clarkson vs. Dante Exum duel can crank out a few highlights to keep things interesting. Enjoy the game and some good ole' fashioned Madness if that's your cup of tea.
