Kobe Bryant told Dwyane Wade about his retirement early so his sons could see him play one last time

This is pretty cool.

Kobe Bryant officially announced his retirement last Sunday in a poem for the Player's Tribune, but he had decided long before that. Bryant called Micahel Jordan to ask for advice on how to handle his final season before he had played a single game and it appears the Chicago Bulls great was not the only all-time great shooting guard Bryant gave a sneak-preview at his plans.

Rachel Nichols was in Miami to cover the Heat's Thursday night game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but with Bryant's retirement on everyone's mind, she asked Dwyane Wade about Kobe before the game, and the story Wade told did not disappoint:

This was pretty awesome of Kobe to do, but are we sure he wasn't just thinking in his head "You know what? Dwyane's kids should get to see a historically great shooting guard at least one more time. It's not like they get to do that very often."

I mean probably not, but it's hilarious to think about.
