Kobe Bryant's farewell tour hit Charlotte with the Los Angeles Lakers visiting the Hornets. Michael Jordan was not in the building, but he did prepare a long goodbye message to congratulate him on taking the next step in his life once he says goodbye to basketball.
Jordan said Kobe's been like a "little brother" and was proud in what he's accomplished through his illustrious 20-year career. Kobe's legacy will forever have a symbiotic relationship with Jordan's, the superstars both playing under Phil Jackson on their way to 11-combined championships -- with MJ edging Bryant out with one ring and the additional individual hardware.
"You've been a big help to the game of basketball. You helped the NBA," Jordan said during his parting words to Kobe. The Mamba saying goodbye to the team that passed him along to Los Angeles, along with Jordan, made for a memorable moment as he makes his last ride through the NBA.
