Kobe on Portland fans booing him: 'I thought it was great.'

Bryant has always enjoyed being the villain.

Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

Kobe Bryant is in his 20th year in the NBA and with the Los Angeles Lakers. His legs aren't what they used to be, and he has not played up to the high standards he sets for himself while scoring 15.7 points per game on 31.5% shooting. Golden State Warriors players were openly shocked by how badly Kobe has played andone anonymous Western Conference guard called Bryant's play "disgusting."

So Bryant is probably grateful for anything that reminds him of his heyday, how deadly of a scorer he once was. Perhaps that was why Bryant, when asked about Portland Trail Blazers fans booing him when he touched the ball during the Lakers Saturday night loss, smiled and said "I thought it was great." Bryant has referenced several times this season that he wants fans to continue to treat him normally rather than give him the farewell tour treatment.

So keep booing Kobe, NBA fans. It's what he wants.
