Bovada sets Lakers '15-16 season win total over/under at 29.5

Bovada has the Lakers hovering around the 30-wins mark.

Sports books are putting up a fresh round of over/unders for NBA season win-totals with preseason underway, and Bovada has the Los Angeles Lakers at 29.5 victories. That's one game less than the New York Knicks (30.5), but still ahead of the Brooklyn Nets (27.5),  Denver Nuggets (27.5), Minnesota Timberwolves (26.5), Portland Trail Blazers (26.5) and Philadelphia 76ers (21.5). The Charlotte Hornets are currently off the board following the injury to Michael Kidd-Gilchrist's shoulder. The full odds on Bovada can be seen over here.

The Lakers clearing 30 wins would be a step in the right direction after failing to do so in the previous two seasons, and while a nine-win increase over last season would be a big jump, in context the roster looks like it should be at least that much better than the '14-15 squad. With the additions of D'Angelo Russell and several veterans, return of Kobe Bryant and Julius Randle, and other tweaks the Lakers look significantly better. It wouldn't be surprising to see the team a game or two under, or over 30.

On-paper only goes so far, and we'll get a much clearer picture with preseason opening up for the Lakers. Hovering around the 30 wins isn't a bad place to be for the Lakers. The Golden State Warriors (59.5) lead the way, followed by the San Antonio Spurs (58.5) and Cleveland Cavaliers (57.5).
