We're getting ready for a brand new season of Los Angeles Lakers basketball, so to count down the days we'll be looking at the best Lakers to wear the number. We'll continue at 6 days until the regular season begins, with a Laker Fan favorite.
Who wore it the best: Eddie Jones

After his second year in Los Angeles with the Lakers, Eddie Jones changed his number from 25 to 6, as the Lakers were going to retire #25 for Gail Goodrich during the 1996-97 season. The next two seasons would see Jones earn All-Star selections as the Lakers starting shooting guard. During the 1997 playoffs, Jones would struggle in the first two rounds. With the emergence of Kobe Bryant, Jones was going to have to pick it back up the following season; and he did. Jones continued his success from the 1997 season and carried it into the playoffs, even though the Lakers would fall in the Conference Finals.
The following season was shortened due to a lockout, and with Jones' numbers down across the board and Kobe Bryant begging for more minutes, Eddie was traded along with Elden Campbell to the Charlotte Hornets for J.R. Reid, Glen Rice & B.J. Armstrong. Eddie would go on to play two years in Charlotte, earning another All-Star selection during the 1999-2000 season. He would then go on to play 5 and half seasons in Miami, one a half seasons in Memphis & a final season in Dallas before retiring after the 2007-08 season.

Who wore it last: Jordan Clarkson
Jordan Clarkson was selected with the 46th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers, after they had bought the pick from the Washington Wizards for $1.8 million. Clarkson has played four years of college ball at the University of Missouri. Clarkson didn't see much playing time at the beginning of the season, but with several injuries to the Lakers back court, Clarkson ended up starting 38 games for the Lakers.
During the 38 starts, Clarkson averaged 15.8 points, 5.0 rebounds & 4.2 assists. Alongside Jeremy Lin, he became part of the first Asian-American back court to ever start in an NBA game. Clarkson's late season success earned him a place on the All-Rookie first team. Clarkson is currently under contract with the Lakers for the 2015-16 NBA season and is expected to start at shooting guard, next to D'Angelo Russell and Kobe Bryant.
