The hype is real for the 2014 NBA Draft class, which includes the highest-drafted Los Angeles Laker since James Worthy, Julius Randle. SLAM Magazine took it to the next level, featuring the highly-touted prospects on their latest magazine cover.
They didn't just slap them on it, though, they replicated the iconic cover from the 1996 NBA Draft class. Ya' know, the one that's filled with future Hall of Famers and that guy you may have heard of named Kobe Bryant. You can check out both covers below, via SLAM:
Have to give props to SLAM on issue #182 here. They didn't stop short of trying their best to make an "updated" cover, including a miniature Monta Ellis in the upper right corner to mimic the Glen Rice shot.
Big shoes to fill for any rookie class, particularly the ones Randle will have to live up to, but this group has been one of the highest-anticipated groups since the 2003 NBA Draft.
