Kobe Bryant rated 89 overall in NBA 2K15

Of course Kobe Bryant is the highest-rated Laker in NBA 2K15, but the Black Mamba has dropped below a 90 in the latest installment in the series.

Lakers social media and more

Ratings for all of the Los Angeles Lakers players in NBA 2K15 have leaked, and standing alone at the top is Kobe Bryant with an 89 overall rating. It's down four points from the 93 overall rating he was given in NBA 2K14, dropping below 90 for the first time in recent memory. Only four players will be rated a 90 or above, and the Black Mamba won't be a part of that "exclusive" digital club.

It's worth mentioning 2K Sports adjusts ratings as the season progresses based on how players are performing, so he could reach that mark if he puts together a solid season and proves he's still got it after missing 76 games last season following a knee injury. Bryant taking a trip to Germany to undergo a routine knee treatment should help him get back on the right track.

Kobe's dip in rating certainly won't stop Lakers fans from picking the purple and gold in NBA 2K, but the rest of the team isn't looking much stronger. There isn't another player over an 80 overall rating, the next highest rated players being Carlos Boozer and Nick Young with 78's. Young's rating is hard to read in the captured screenshot, so he could actually be a 76 overall.

Still, when Kobe Bryant is looking this accurate in the next-gen version of the game, it's hard not to pick Los Angeles when the game is fired up. Shady00018, from the Operation Sports community, put together this snazzy video montage from NBA 2K14 showing off Kobe Bryant in all of his glory. Not 2K15, but still pretty cool to take a look at in anticipation of the new launch.
