The Los Angeles Lakers drafted Julius Randle with the seventh-overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft knowing he could need foot surgery, but doctors have cleared Randle for all basketball activities, the Lakers officially announced. Randle is expected to headline the Lakers' Las Vegas Summer League team, which begins playing on July 11.

Reports leaked from various media outlets that Randle would require surgery, though the power forward out of Kentucky denied he would miss any time because of his foot. He'll gear up for the Lakers through the exhibition circuit, giving fans their first glimpse of the highest draft selection for the franchise since James Worthy in 1982.

The Lakers have announced their Summer League roster, which kicked off with the additions of undrafted rookies LaQuinton Ross and DeAndre Kane into the mix. You can see the full roster here, along with a tentative schedule for Las Vegas.

For once, for now, the Lakers got a taste of good fortune involving an injury.
