The Friday loss to Washington cost the Lakers more than just another L on the docket.
Both Steve Nash and Xavier Henry were both hurt against the Wiz and have been ruled out of tonight's action against the Orlando Magic. Nash tweaked his troublesome back in the fourth quarter, no doubt stemming from the nerve root irritation that's plagued him for the past two seasons.
Meanwhile, Henry's injury may be just as severe. A MRI revealed that the swingman has torn ligaments in his left wrist, though the severity of the injury will be unknown until he sees a hand specialist on Monday. There's no telling whether it will require surgery or not, or if it will keep Henry out for the rest of the regular season. Either way, it's just another health issue that Xavier has had in a quasi-breakout season, which has included knee problems. Henry really needed to use the remainder of the year to further fortify his free agency value. Obviously a severe injury will curtail that goal.
With Jordan Farmar also out with a strained groin, the Lakers are running thin on guards. Jodie Meeks, Kent Bazemore and MarShon Brooks will hold the back-up point guard post from here on out, not any of their natural positions.
