The Los Angeles Lakers are having fun, winning games and making history together. That sounds nice, but a back-to-back game on the road in Indiana against the Pacers may be a quick end to the positive vibes. The Pacers have been very bad, going 1-9 over their last 10 games, but the Lakers haven't cracked a 4-game winning streak yet. A win Monday would equal their best stretch of the season.
Indiana is decimated by injuries and Roy Hibbert simply isn't the kind of talent a franchise can lean on on a nightly basis. They're prime for the Lakers to pick apart and get the heck back to Los Angeles with a win streak and huge layoff until they play again. The purple and gold will be out of action until Friday, when the Oklahoma City Thunder visit, giving the Lakers a chance to get their buggy all prepped up for a big game.
The Lakers should realistically beat the Pacers. No matter how bad the Lakers are, they aren't as completely bitten by the injury bag as the Pacers are, and they seem to have found a bit of their footing. Between Kobe Bryant and Nick Young taking turns hitting big shots, they've shown they have some firepower to blast away opponents. It's a lack of consistency on offense, and their constant defensive lapses, that have caused issues.
Either way, enjoy the last Lakers game until Friday!
