Video: Lakers Celebrate Kobe's Scoring Milestone

The team soaks in a fun moment during what has been a mostly depressing season.

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Some might have thought that stopping the game to present Kobe with the ball that he passed Michael Jordan for 3rd all time in NBA scoring would have been enough of a celebration. Those people are clearly not Jordan Clarkson, who decided the team plane to Indiana would be a great time to sing "Congratulations to Kobe" (to the tune of Happy Birthday, using the term "tune" very loosely. Work on those pipes, and that enthusiasm rookie). Watch:

It turns out this may not have been entirely Clarkson's idea, at least according to Mike Trudell:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-partner="tweetdeck"><p>Rookie Jordan Clarkson just sang a &quot;Congratulations to Kobe&quot; song to the &quot;Happy Birthday to You&quot; theme. Probably forced to by Swaggy and Co.</p>&mdash; Mike Trudell (@LakersReporter) <a href="https://twitter.com/LakersReporter/status/544354417701826560">December 15, 2014</a></blockquote>

Forced or not: a rookie singing to you, a game ball, flight attendants bringing you cake, AND a victory? Pretty good night for the Mamba.
