Steve Nash out Friday vs. Charlotte Bobcats

Steve Nash is back in Los Angeles and practicing with the team but won't play Friday.

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Lakers will be without Steve Nash when they host the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday, the team officially announced. Nash did participate in practice and hopes to play sometime next week. In the meantime, here's old man Nash beard in action:

Pau Gasol did not practice with the team and is considered a gametime decision, but he is expected to play. Friday is the last Lakers home game until Feb. 9 as the team begins a three-game road trip Tuesday when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Steve Blake and Jordan Farmar are still recovering from their injuries but could be returning soon. Blake is still feeling elbow pain and Farmar isn't pushing his hamstring 100%.

Nash is seeking a return soon, Farmar and Blake are still out for a bit, Xavier Henry and Kobe Bryant are still weeks away. Nothing has changed, in short.
