Nick Young suspended 1 game for throwing punch against Phoenix Suns

The Lakers will be without their leading scorer when they play Boston on Friday.

Nick Young has been suspended one game without pay for throwing a punch at Goran Dragic during the Los Angeles Lakers loss to the Phoenix Suns, the league officially announced. Young will miss the team's game against the Boston Celtics on Friday. Alex Len was fined $15,000 and Marcus Morris was fined $25,000, via an NBA press release:

Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young has been suspended one game without pay for throwing a punch at Phoenix Suns guard Goran Dragic with 7:33 remaining in the second quarter of the Lakers' 121-114 loss to the Suns on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at US Airways Center, it was announced today by Rod Thorn, President, Basketball Operations.

Suns center Alex Len, who was ejected for his Flagrant Foul 2 against Young, has been fined $15,000. Suns forward Marcus Morris has been fined $25,000 for escalating the altercation.

The play happened during the second quarter as Young went in for a quick layup attempt following a Suns made shot. Here's the foul when Young attempted the layup:

Young is the team's leading scorer, averaging 16.4 points per game. He's also one of three players on the Lakers' roster that has played in all 39 games through the season. The other two are Jodie Meeks and Jordan Hill.

The Lakers are expected to have newly signed Manny Harris available to play Friday after signing him to a 10-day contract today, however. That's a total of nine active players, with Harris. As for Dragic, he's doing alright following the scuffle:
