Former Los Angeles Lakers forward Lamar Odom was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Friday morning, reports Richard Winton of the Los Angeles Times. Odom was pulled over after driving 50 miles per hour on the 101 freeway in a "serpentine" matter.
Odom was unable to perform any sobriety tests, showed "objective" signs of intoxication of alcohol and possibly drugs, and refused all chemical tests, according to the California Highway Patrol report. Odom was booked at Van Nuys jail and is being held on $15,000 bail.
Allegations regarding Odom's personal life and drug abuse problems led up to the arrest. Odom has not released any statements regarding the allegations, and his agent has only stated that the veteran forward still intends to play in the NBA during the 2013-2014 season.
With alleged drug abuse and now a pending DUI case, it's remains unclear as to whether an NBA team will sign the 33-year-old veteran player after he averaged career-lows in minutes, points and assists last season with the Los Angeles Clippers.
