The Los Angeles Lakers revealed a new black uniform on their Instagram account and labeled them "Hollywood Nights." The team will wear them for "select" games through the upcoming NBA season.
The jersey is predominantly black with gold paneling along the sides with purple trim. The lettering and numbering will be purple with gold trim. No details on when the jersey would debut or how they would schedule "Hollywood Nights" games were announced with the sneak peek. The Lakers already wear an alternate white jersey for Sunday home games.
The Lakers are also expected to wear short-sleeved white jerseys throughout the 2013-2014 season for "several games", according to Dave McMenamin of ESPN Los Angeles. The sleeved jerseys will be debuted on Christmas Day when they play the Miami Heat in Los Angeles.
The organization has not revealed a "tease" for the sleeved jersey. The Lakers' Las Vegas summer league team did wear short-sleeved jerseys and summer league invitee Chris Douglas-Roberts infamously cut the sleeves on his jersey.
