Lakers met with free agent Lou Amundson, according to report

Are the Lakers still interested in big man Lou Amundson after being linked to him near last season's trade deadline?

The Los Angeles Lakers met with free agent big man Lou Amundson this week, his agent told RealGM. Amundson also met with the Los Angeles Clippers as he seeks out a deal after being waived last season by the Minnesota Timberwolves and signing short-term contracts to finish the year.

The Lakers were rumored to be interested in Amundson last season near the trade deadline. Pau Gasol had recently torn his plantar fascia and Earl Clark had undergone an MRI on a sore foot, putting the team's frontcourt depth in question.

Amundson eventually signed a 10-day contract with the Chicago Bulls before joining the New Orleans Pelicans for the remainder of the 2012-2013 season.

The 6'9 big man spent two seasons with the Phoenix Suns and Steve Nash but never played under coach Mike D'Antoni while with the team. Amundson has played for eight teams since joining the league in the 2006-2007 season and was an undrafted rookie.

He holds career averages of 3.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
