With all five of his free agency presentations concluded Dwight Howard will be taking a vacation away from California "for a few days" to consider his options, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
The Los Angeles Lakers made the final pitch to Howard Tuesday afternoon and Mitch Kupchak released an official statement describing the organization as "hopeful" he will decide to re-sign with the Lakers once he mulls his options.
Howard is not expected to drag out the free agency process. He began his free agency visits shortly after his contract with the Lakers expired on July 1 and can officially sign his name to a contract on July 10. He can, however, come to a verbal agreement with a team prior to signing day.
In a 48-hour span Howard met with the Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks and Lakers. Now, he plans to head off the grid before making a decision with heavy implications for everybody involved in the process.
