NBA free agency rumors: Jordan Farmar not returning to Lakers, according to report

After reports that Jordan Farmar could be coming back to the purple and gold it seems like an unlikely possibility now.

The Los Angeles Lakers and former-Lakers point guard Jordan Farmar were said to have "mutual interest", but Farmar will not be returning to Los Angeles. The buyout on the remaining two years of his contract with his Turkish Basketball League club alone is more than the contract the Lakers are willing to offer him, according to Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times.

Farmar signed a three-year, $15 million deal with opt out options in 2012. Farmar had expressed interest in coming back to the states and making a return to the NBA in May, but if he does, it won't be with the Lakers.

His last stint in the NBA was with the Brooklyn Nets while they were still in New Jersey. He averaged a career-high 10.9 points per game on 46 percent shooting overall, and 44 percent shooting from beyond the arc.

For now, it looks like the 26th selection of the 2006 NBA Draft by the Lakers won't be coming back to Los Angeles.
