Surprise surprise, the Phil Jackson consulted Detroit Pistons have added Indiana Pacers assistant coach Brian Shaw to their head coach search. According to a report from Tom Layden of ABC 7 WXYZ, the Pistons have already contacted Shaw about the position:

Indiana Pacers associate head coach Brian Shaw has been contacted by the Detroit Pistons to interview for the team's head coaching job, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.

The Pacers have taken a 3-1 lead over the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference semifinals and are unlikely to allow Shaw to interview for the job until their run comes to an end, as points out Dan Feldman of NBC Sports. Detroit has already interviewed Nate McMillan, who is considered the favored candidate of Pistons president Joe Dumars.

However, McMillan was interviewed prior to the arrival of Jackson and the Pistons have continued their search. They have also been linked to San Antonio Spurs assistant Mike Budenholzer, Phoenix Suns interim coach Lindsey Hunter, and Houston Rockets assistant (and Bernie Bickerstaff's son) J.B. Bickerstaff.
