Pau Gasol suffers "setback", will have foot re-examined

Pau Gasol experienced some pain in his foot after a workout on Saturday. He will have his foot re-examined by a specialist and may not return as quickly as expected

After a couple straight weeks of nothing but good news regarding Pau Gasol's return from plantar fasciitus, it looks like the Spaniard might still have a little time left to go in his recovery. Per ESPN Los Angeles:

Pau Gasol experienced soreness in his injured right foot Saturday after participating in a workout at the Lakers training facility, according to a Lakers spokesman.

He will be examined Sunday by Dr. Kenneth Jung, a foot specialist, and a further update will be given later in the day before the Lakers play the Sacramento Kings at Staples Center.

There was previous talk that Pau might return as early as tonight against the Sacramento Kings, or tomorrow against the Phoenix Suns, but that timetable now seems to be in jeopardy. The Lakers want to wait until Pau is completely pain free before they have him return to the lineup. Still, although this isn't exactly good news, it is not also something terribly concerning. Per Mark Medina, Mike D'Antoni said:

We were talking about Monday. That could be in jeopardy, but he's close.
