Dwight Howard flew out to Los Angeles just a few days ago to receive a platelet rich plasma procedure on his right shoulder. While PRP doesn't require a player to miss any specific window of time, Howard will not be ready to play in today's game against the Detroit Pistons, per Lakers reporter Mike Trudell.

Despite returning to the team yesterday, Dwight will continue to be listed as day-to-day as he attempts to rehabilitate his shoulder. He has tweaked it multiple times, and while a PRP procedure can help with the pain and accelerate the healing process, it doesn't make the issue of playing with a torn labrum go away. The Lakers next play the Nets in Brooklyn on Tuesday, and we'll keep you posted here at Silver Screen and Roll on the latest.
