Jordan Farmar injury: Ruled out 'at least' one week, hamstring progressing

Still no healthy points guards on the Lakers for at least another week.

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Jordan Farmar is expected to miss "at least" one more week with a hamstring injury, the Lakers officially announced. Farmar was hopeful he could return ahead of schedule, and the ultrasound revealed progress, but the Lakers are still without a healthy point guard on the roster.

The Lakers will re-evaluate Farmar on Dec. 24, reports Lakers reporter Mike Trudell. That's adds up to a minimum of three games (Minnesota Timberwolves, at Golden State Warriors, at Phoenix Suns) that he's been ruled out for. The Lakers host the Miami Heat on Dec. 25, just one day after the Lakers will have an update on his status, which would be a fast turnaround.

There is still no update on Steve Nash, who last we heard from was heading to Vancouver to work with his personal therapist, though Trudell notes Nash is returning and there is a chance the team will have news on his status tomorrow.

There's still at least five weeks before Steve Blake can return after tearing a ligament in his elbow. Kobe Bryant will likely continue starting at point guard for the Lakers, though Farmar is expected to start once he returns.
